Aphorisms

An aphorism is a whity statement that give you insite into life, and things that we would do.
  1. He that live upon hope will die fasting
    1.  Here, Franklin is saying that you cannot hope that everything will come true. You must take action and do something. Basically, Franklin is telling you to follow the virtue of Industry and lose no time hoping. You must always do something to help yourself.
  2. A good example is the best sermon
    1.  This is saying that a example of what to do is much more powerful that simply trying to explain how to do it. This would be similar to silence. You do not need to talk with frivolity; you need to provide an example so people understand.
  3. A true friend is the best possession
    1.  Franklin, here, is saying that if you have nothing you must have a true friend. They are the one thing that is most important. This is similar to Frugality. Do not spend time on people that will not help you; instead, spend time getting a true friend. They are much more important.
